The Swedish Maritime Administration said on Monday that a car tire went on fire on a ferry carrying around 300 people in the Baltic Sea near Sweden's Gotlandic Sand Island. The agency added the fire should be under control by now.

While authorities immediately informed rescue units to secure an evacuation option, the Norwegian Maritime Authority confirmed that the ferry wouldn't need to be emptied.

No significant damage to the vessel or injuries among people onboard, and the ship safely returned to a Swedish dock on Tuesday.
