Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen said Monday that it is essential for other EU countries to increase their defense spending.
"Europe must take greater responsibility for its own security, together with our US allies. Petteri Orpo's government is committed to keeping Finland's defense spending at least at 2% of GDP, in line with NATO's target," she said.
Her remarks come amid the latest verbal spat between Finland and Russia over the growing number of Russian troops on the common border.
