Russian US envoy doubts success of Jeddah talks on Ukraine

Russian Ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Antonov, criticized the US administration's portrayal of the consultations held in Jeddah on Ukraine, stating that there was no diplomatic success and no support for Kiev's peace plan.

According to Antonov, Washington's attempt to showcase support from states of the Global South in isolating Russia was unsuccessful and lacked a common position on resolving the crisis in Ukraine.

"We would like to understand how it is possible to discuss issues related to Russia's security without taking into account our national interests," Antonov stated.
