Voting in the United States presidential election has begun in 13 more states, including crucial battleground states Florida and Pennsylvania. Other states include Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Massachussetts, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Rhode Island, South Carolina and some parts of Tennessee.

Voting in New Hampshire also continued at 1 p.m. CET, after three tiny towns in the state had voted shortly after midnight.

In early voting a record number of over 46 million Americans cast their ballots and there are already long queues in many polling stations with a large number of voters eager to have their say in the election.

The election is expected to be a close call between Democrat Hillary Clinton and GOP candidate Donald Trump.
