Florida looking to prevent 'catastrophic' flood damage - gov

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said at a press conference that the state is looking to prevent a "real catastrophic" flood situation in the Tampa area.

The problems were caused by a leak at a phosphate plant south of Tampa that stands as a threat to the residential area nearby.

On Sunday, the Manatee County Public Safety Department declared a state of emergency and ordered the evacuation of the reservoir site.
