Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in China rose 16.4% year on year to 893 billion yuan ($138 billion) in the first eight months of the year, the Chinese Commerce Ministry said Monday. In dollar terms, FDI rose 20.2%.
In terms of the source of investment flows, FDI in China increased mainly from South Korea (58.9%), Germany (30.3%), Japan (26.8%), and the United Kingdom (17.2%).
Foreign investment climbed 8.7% in the service sector, while in high-tech industries, it went up by 33.6%.
