Formal charges by the United States Department of Justice against US President Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden (pictured right) could be "imminent," an unnamed former senior DoJ official told Fox News on Thursday.
Earlier in the day, citing unnamed sources briefed on the case, The Washington Post reported that agents investigating Hunter Biden believe they have gathered sufficient evidence to officially charge him over alleged tax- and gun-purchase-related crimes. Delaware District Attorney David Weiss, appointed to the post by former US President Donald Trump, is in charge of the investigation and will make a decision on whether the charges will be filed.
Hunter Biden's lawyer Chris Clark told US media that it is a "federal felony for a federal agent to leak information about a Grand Jury investigation such as this one."
