The Bertelsmann SE & Co. chief executive Thomas Rabe said a deal to merge M6 and TF1, France's two biggest private broadcasters could be revived, according to Financial Times.
Rabe explained the merger could make the two companies more competitive against large streaming platforms from the United States such as Netlix and Apple TV+.
If the deal is reached, the two companies would have a combined market capitalization of €3.6 billion. The broadcasters abandoned the original merger plan in 2022 due to European regulatory issues.
