French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou survived an initial no-confidence vote in the National Assembly on Wednesday.
National Assembly President Yael Braun-Pivet said that only 128 deputies voted in favor of the motion, well below the 289 needed to get the motion through.
Far-left lawmakers introduced two no-confidence motions against Bayrou after he triggered Article 49.3, which allows the prime minister to adopt a legislation without a parliamentary vote, to force the 2025 budget through.
