France's GDP rebounds 0.1% in Q1

France's gross domestic product (GDP) rose by 0.1% in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the previous quarter, the country's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE) confirmed in a report published on Wednesday. Economic growth rebounded in the reported quarter after declining by 0.1% in the fourth quarter of 2024.

On a quarterly basis, while consumption of services increased by 0.5% in the reported three-month period, consumption of goods dipped by 0.6%.

The contribution of foreign trade to economic growth remained negative, dropping by 0.4 points, after slipping by 0.1% in the three months ending December 2024. While imports grew by 0.4% quarter on quarter, exports fell by 0.7%.
