French health authorities authorized on Monday COVID-19 vaccination for all children from 5 to 11 years of age with the shot made by Pfizer. The Haute Autorite de sante (HAS) already allowed on November 30 the immunization of children in that age range if they are at risk or live with at-risk people.
The HAS stressed there will be no obligation to vaccinate children and their inoculation will not be a prerequisite for a health pass. It also recommended a 21-day delay between the two doses, as well as an antibody test in order to limit the vaccination to one dose in case the child has already recovered from COVID-19.
