The French National Agency for the Security of Information Systems (ANSSI) recorded more than 140 cyberattacks during the Paris Olympics, although none of them managed to derail the competitions, AFP reported on Tuesday.

Between July 26 and August 11, ANSSI gathered 119 reports related to low-impact "security events," whilst also recording 22 incidents where a "malicious actor" targeted a victim's information system with success. These attacks focused on "government entities as well as sports, transport and telecoms infrastructure."

"All the cyber events that occurred during this period were generally characterized by their low impact," ANSSI said.
