French authorities issued international arrest warrants for three senior Syrian intelligence officials on suspicion they committed war crimes, French media on Monday citing legal sources.
According to Le Monde, a French court is seeking the arrest of the three officials accused of "complicity in acts of torture, complicity in enforced disappearances, complicity in crimes against humanity and war crimes."
The men for whom the warrants were issued were identified as Syria's National Security Bureau Director Ali Mamlouk, Air Force Intelligence Directorate head Jamil Hassan and Abdel Salam Mahmoud, the head of the investigation branch of these services.
