Annual inflation in France came in at 0.7% in May, the country's statistical office INSEE announced in its final report on Friday, confirming the figure from the preliminary report. Viewed monthly, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) dropped 0.1%, unchanged from the preliminary report.
Year-over-year, for the reported month, energy prices fell at a slightly faster pace, dropping 8% as opposed to a 7.8% loss in April. Food prices grew 1.3%, accelerating slightly from a 1.2% increase in the month prior.
Annual core inflation excluding food and energy stood at 1.1%, easing from 1.3% in April. The Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) added 0.6% in May, remaining the same as in the preliminary report.
