Annual inflation in France ran at 0.8% in April, the country's statistical office INSEE revealed in its final report on Thursday. Month on month, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.6%. Both figures were in line with the preliminary report.
Year over year, in the reported month, energy prices slumped 7.8%, accelerating from a 6.6% fall in March, while food prices rose 1.2%, accelerating from a 0.6% growth in March.
Annual core inflation in the country, excluding food and energy, clocked in at 1.3%, the same as in March. The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) added 0.9% on an annual basis in April, up from the preliminary reading of 0.8%.
