A committee of lawmakers from the French National Assembly and Senate agreed on Friday on a draft of the 2025 budget. The text will be tabled for a vote by the full National Assembly on Monday.
It is still unclear whether the government will have the required votes, with the governing coalition holding only 212 out of 577 seats and support from the opposition uncertain. Prime Minister Francois Bayrou will also have the option of using Article 49.3, which gives him the power to force through legislation without a vote.
