General Motors Company and the United Auto Workers (UAW) might be near reaching a deal, CNBC reported on Friday citing sources with knowledge on the matter.

According to the sources, intense negotiations, which took place on Thursday, continued today, with the potential accord being based on the tentative agreement Ford previously reached with the UAW. The sources further said both GM CEO Mary Barra and UAW President Shawn Fain joined the discussions, although the latter did so online.

Stellantis NV was also holding long talks with the UAW yesterday and could be on a path to close a deal as well, the sources mentioned. They cautioned, however, that no decisions have been made so far and that the situation could change at any moment.
