General Motors Company's (GM) Buick and GMC Global Vice President Duncan Aldred told CNBC on Tuesday that the company is planning to increase the production of electric Hummer pickups and sport utility vehicles (SUVs) as the reservations for those models have surpassed expectations.
"Production's actually slightly ahead of plan and we're putting things in place now to actually expedite that as well, so we can deliver these reservations quicker than we originally thought," Aldred said. "We're seeing momentum building."
The news came shortly after GM recalled 740,000 GMC Terrain SUVs produced between 2010 and 2017 as their headlights violate brightness regulations.
