United States Senator Tim Scott (pictured) said on Tuesday that the legal process that led to last night's raid on the home of former US President Donald Trump has to "play out" before finding answers to the question of whether the FBI is "doing their job apolitical."
Speaking to CBS, the Republican from South Carolina stressed the reason behind the raid would have to be "something of incredible magnitude" for the GOP "to say it was warranted."
Without that, a "very big mess" could ensue, especially concerning the "credibility" of the FBI, the lawmaker warned. Trump is the "largest voice in American politics, period," Scott underscored.
