Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. said Friday in a statement that its new Galaxy S24 smartphones broke the preorder record in South Korea with 1.21 million phones preordered.
This largest Galaxy S pre-sale in South Korea surpassed the number of preorders of its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 by 120,000 units. Even though the Galaxy Note 10 boasts the highest number of preorders at 1.38 million units, the company argued that the average daily pre-sales of the Galaxy S24 are higher, averaging 173,000 units per day. The Galaxy S24 Ultra model accounted for 60% of the pre-sales with the Galaxy S24 Plus and Galaxy S24 accounting for 21% and 19% respectively.
The newest Galaxy model features real-time translation for phone calls made possible by a built-in AI.
