Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said on Tuesday that the presumed successor of slain Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, Hashem Safieddine, was probably killed in Israel's attack on Beirut last week.
"Hezbollah is an organization without a leader, Nasrallah was eliminated, his replacement was probably also eliminated, this thing has a dramatic effect on everything that happens. There is no one to make decisions, no one to act," Gallant noted during a visit to the Israeli military Northern Command, stressing that Hezbollah's combat capability was also severely affected.
"When the smoke in Lebanon clears," Iran will become aware that it lost its "most valuable asset, which is Hezbollah," the minister concluded.
