S. Korea's security rep to visit US before Yoon

South Korean Principal Deputy National Security Adviser Kim Tae-hyo will visit the United States this week to prepare the groundwork for President Yoon Suk-yeol's (pictured) trip there, the latter's office said on Monday.

The office said Kim's visit will last from Tuesday to Saturday and include meetings with US officials regarding Yoon's visit, as well as bilateral relations between the two countries and the situation concerning North Korea.

Yoon will visit Washington and meet with his US counterpart Joe Biden on April 26. Meanwhile, US Congress leaders invited the South Korean head of state to attend the joint session of the upper and lower house.
