Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A. announced on Wednesday the launch of its "Fenice 190" initiative, which aims to support the European economic recovery.
The five-year €3.5 billion investment plan focuses on infrastructure, innovation and digitalization, small and medium enterprises, green housing, health care facilities, and education. The insurance giant said it allocated €1 billion of the funds in the prior year and plans to invest another €500 million per annum over the next five years.
"With Fenice 190, we want to [provide] significant support for the most innovative, sustainable and strategic sectors for the restart of the European economy, while at the same time encouraging the inclusion of those most heavily impacted by the crisis," Generali Group CEO, Philippe Donnet stated.
