German GDP falls 0.1% in Q2

Germany's gross domestic product (GDP) adjusted for price, season and calendar declined 0.1% in the second quarter of 2024 in comparison to the previous three-month period, the country's Federal Statistical Office Destatis said in a preliminary report released on Tuesday. The GDP fell 0.1% on an annual basis as well. The numbers came in below analyst expectations.

"Investments in equipment and buildings, adjusted for price, seasonal and calendar effects, in particular, decreased," it was mentioned in the report. The GDP, adjusted just for price, rose 0.3% in the reported quarter, year over year.
