German ZF Friedrichshafen AG, a supplier of parts for the commercial vehicle industry, is planning to enter the Japanese market as soon as 2026, Nikkei Asia reported on Tuesday. The company will supply electric trucks and vans with a load capacity of 1-2 tons, which are commonly used by delivery businesses in the Asian country.
ZF's goal is to have 10,000 electric vehicle orders by 2030 and to develop a supply chain in Japan that would include vehicle design and production.
The head of the project will be ZF's Japanese unit which will produce vehicles that accommodate customer requirements.
