Seasonally and price-adjusted new factory orders in Germany fell by 4.7% in March compared to the previous month, the country's Federal Statistical Office Destatis said in a report published on Thursday.
Domestic orders were down by 1.8% and foreign orders dropped 6.7% compared to February. New orders from the euro area rose by 5.6%, while new orders from other countries slid 13.2% month on month.
New orders of capital goods plunged 8.3% and orders of intermediate goods decreased by 1.5%, while consumer goods orders jumped 6.4%.
On an annual basis, new factory orders declined by 3.1%.
