Consumer prices in Germany rose 7.4% in March compared to the same month the previous year, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) said on Thursday, thus confirming its provisional estimate.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices in Europe's largest economy rose by 0.8%. The harmonized index of consumer prices for Germany increased by 7.8% from March 2022 and added 1.1% month on month.
"The rate of inflation has slowed but remains at a high level," President of the Federal Statistical Office Ruth Brand said. "Households felt especially the impact of yet another rise in food prices in March," she added.
