The annual inflation rate in Germany came in at 2% in June, the same as in the preliminary estimate, the Federal Statistical Office Destatis revealed in its final report published on Thursday. Compared to the previous month, the figure remained unchanged.
The prices of energy decreased by 3.5% in comparison to June 2024. In May, they declined by 4.6%. Food increased by 2.0% year-on-year but dropped by 0.5% month-on-month. Services went up by 3.3% compared to June 2024, and remained virtually unchanged from the previous month.
The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) rose by 2.0% year-on-year and 0.1% month-on-month.
