Germany's calendar and seasonally adjusted foreign trade surplus hit €6.4 billion in June, rising significantly from the €0.8 billion surplus recorded in May, the data released by Destatis revealed on Wednesday.
Exports reached €134.3 billion in June, jumping 4.5% on a monthly basis and surging 18.4% compared to the same month in 2021. Exports to the European Union stood at €72.9 billion, while exports to third countries amounted to €61.4 billion.
Imports increased 0.2% in comparison to the previous month while soaring 27.9% on an annual basis to reach €127.9 billion. Imports from the EU stood at €62.8 billion. Imports from third countries reached €65.1 billion.
The non-seasonally adjusted foreign trade surplus was €7.7 billion in June.
