Germany, Ireland and France became on Sunday the three latest additions to the list of countries that have banned inbound flights from the United Kingdom due to a new, highly infectious, strain of the coronavirus which originated there. Germany also suspended flights from South Africa.
France's ban is set to last for 48 hours starting from midnight local time, although it can be prolonged if needed, same as Ireland. Germany will reportedly cancel all but cargo flights until the end of the year. Italy, Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands are among the countries that have already announced similar policies.
