German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht announced on Tuesday the country will join forces with the Netherlands to supply Ukraine with self-propelled howitzers.
Speaking on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Madrid with her Dutch counterpart, Kasja Ollongren, the two ministers revealed that each country will deploy "the most modern artillery pieces in the world," three Panzerhaubitze 2000, a total of six new systems are to be delivered to Kiev to help the country's offensive against the Russian forces.
Last month, Berlin reported that the first troop of the Ukrainian military forces had arrived in the country for training on the main weapon system of the German Army's artillery.
