Germany will be implementing new coronavirus rules aimed at travelers coming from China, Health Minister Karl Lauterbach said on Thursday at a briefing.
Lauterbach stated that passengers from China will now have to present at least a rapid antigen test, taken before departure, in order to enter Germany. Moreover, random checks to detect virus variants will be performed upon entry and there will be "supplementary waste water checks" for airplanes coming from China.
Previously, the European Union came to an agreement with regard to which measures should be taken in light of rising concerns that the pandemic cases in China might go rampant and lead to a further spread of the virus.
