Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov said on Friday that Germany will support Ukraine with military aid worth €11 billion until 2029. The announcement came at the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting in Brussels co-chaired by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius (pictured right) and British Defense Secretary John Healy (left), where around 50 allies gathered to discuss the Russia-Ukraine war.
Pistorius said Germany will send four Iris-T air defense systems to Ukraine this year, as well as 15 Leopard 1 battle tanks, 300 guided missiles, 300 reconnaissance drones, and 100,000 rounds of artillery ammunition, among other equipment. Healy also committed £450 million together with the Norwegian government for repairs and maintenance to vehicles and equipment, radar systems, anti-tank mines and hundreds of thousands of drones.
