German government's Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) revealed on Thursday that natural gas is "currently being partially withdrawn" from storage "due to market conditions."
"This development makes it more difficult to reach the required storage levels for the winter and reduces the reserves for a gas shortage," the agency added, specifying that the current storage level is at 64.5%. "The gas supply in Germany is stable at the moment," but "the situation is tense and a worsening of the situation cannot be ruled out," the Bundesnetzagentur warned.
Routes alternative to Nord Stream 1, which is currently shut down due to maintenance, are not being "used to compensate for the quantities lost on Nord Stream 1," the agency also stated.
