Germany: Gas supply situation in country stable

Germany's Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) announced on Wednesday that the gas supply in this country is stable, despite Gazprom's decision to stop natural gas export to Shell Energy Europe.

BNetzA stated that Gazprom's decision did not have any effect on the gas supply security, as only 4% less gas is being transported through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline in comparison to the day before, which will be purchased elsewhere. According to the report posted on Federal Network Agency's official website, the current storage levels of 48.6% are "in some cases significantly higher than in spring 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2021."

Gazprom announced earlier today that it halted its natural-gas supply to Shell as it failed to pay for gas in Russian rubles.
