Gold adds over 2%, silver gains more than 1%

Precious metals extended gains on Wednesday, led by gold, which reached a five-day high. With the United States tariffs coming into effect earlier today, markets are in for more turbulence and investors are pushed toward safer assets.

Gold jumped 2.11% at 4:42 am ET and sold for $3,046.02 per ounce, while silver rose by 1.31% at the same time, going for 30.20 per ounce. Platinum added 0.32%, selling for $924.44 per ounce and palladium grew by 0.90% and went for $901.99 per ounce.

Gold slides by 1% as investors turn to stocks
