The price of precious metals kept rising on Friday, pushed up by geopolitical developments in the Middle East. Hamas confirmed the death of its leader Yahya Sinwar, while Hezbollah signaled it intends to escalate the conflict with Israel. Markets are also bracing for the fallout from the United States presidential election on November 5.
Gold added 0.99% at 10:42 am ET to sell for $2,719.55 per ounce. At the same time, silver jumped 2.86% and went for $32.60 per ounce. Platinum rose by 1.11%, selling for $1,007.03 per ounce a minute later, and palladium surged 2.59% to $1,056.12 per ounce.
