Prices of precious metals continued to rally on Tuesday, with gold topping the $3,500 mark for the first time.
United States President Donald Trump criticized Fed Chair Jerome Powell, claiming that the Fed's chief was always "too late" in lowering interest rates, except when former President Joe Biden and Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris needed it to win elections. His comments apparently raised concerns among investors and pushed them toward safe-haven assets.
Gold jumped 2.41%% at 2:17 pm ET and sold for $3,507.70 per ounce. Silver climbed by 0.95% to sell for $32.83 per ounce, while platinum advanced 1.20% and went for $978.70 per ounce. At the same time, palladium rose by 1.49%, selling for $945 per ounce.
