Biden: West expanding alliances, unlike China, Russia

The West, especially the United States and Canada, is expanding alliances, unlike China and Russia, United States President Biden pointed out on Friday.

Speaking at a press conference alongside Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in Ottawa, Biden said that he thinks ties between Beijing and Moscow are exaggerated, but added they will not "taken lightly." Western-dominated alliances such as NATO, the Group of Seven, AUKUS and the Quad, as well as their ties to Japan and South Korea are stronger, according to the American president.

Biden continued to downplay China-Russia links by saying that Bejing has still not provided weapons to Moscow despite media reports on that topic.
