Venezuelan opposition leader Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia (pictured) remarked on Tuesday that he is convinced that he will travel to Venezuela to take over as president.

"We know that at the moment, among those who still control the Venezuelan State, there is no willingness to abide by the will of the citizens expressed in the presidential elections," he stated during an event in Spain.

Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro, who claimed to have won the latest elections despite the protests from the country's people and opposition, is set to be inaugurated for his next term in January 2025.
