Google CEO says Gemini error 'unacceptable'

Google LLC CEO Sundar Pichai said in a memo sent to employees that the problem with text and image responses detected recently on its artificial intelligence (AI) platform Gemini is "completely unacceptable," Semafor reported on Wednesday.

"Our teams have been working around the clock to address these issues. We’re already seeing a substantial improvement on a wide range of prompts. No AI is perfect, especially at this emerging stage of the industry’s development, but we know the bar is high for us and we will keep at it for however long it takes. And we’ll review what happened and make sure we fix it at scale," Pichai commented.

Last week, Google suspended the Gemini image generation option because the program failed to produce images of White people when requested. On Monday, Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis said that the tool is expected to be relaunched in the coming weeks.
