The United States Department of Justice could reportedly file a lawsuit against Alphabet Inc.'s Google Maps this year following the antitrust investigation into the company's control of location data, the Politico wrote on Wednesday citing people familiar with the matter.
The sources, however, declined to provide information regarding the specifics of the purported complaint or if the department would file a case against the company after the investigation.
In an effort to restore competition to digital advertising, the tech giant was slapped with a suit last month for suspected monopolistic practices and alleged antitrust violations. The department's first antitrust lawsuit dates back to October 2020.
