Google LLC is in talks with data storage company Snowflake Inc. about a deal that would boost the security of its artificial intelligence model Gemini, the Information reported on Tuesday. According to a Snowflake employee, the deal would allow "highly regulated companies" in sensitive fields to build applications through Gemini without fear that Google will "incorporate the information in their models or leak it to other customers."
The source said Snowflake has been trying "for more than a year to get Anthropic and Microsoft to discuss a partnership," worried that its lack of support for Anthropic would cause it to "lose major deals with customers." Meanwhile, a Databricks Inc. source told the Information that the company is talking to AI startup Anthropic about a similar arrangement.
