Google allegedly to test AI-backed search in Australia

Alphabet Inc.'s Google is preparing to test how its engine search works and what results it shows when powered by artificial intelligence (AI) in Australia, AFR reported on Wednesday.

According to sources familiar with the matter, Alphabet told its stakeholders in Australia that it will first introduce AI Overviews – the first Google offers as a quick response to a query – for just some users in the next few days.

Recently, Google unveiled the Coalition for Secure AI (CoSAI) in an effort to address security issues emerging from using AI.
