Google LLC disclosed on Wednesday that its search engine will be powered by generative artificial intelligence to provide detailed results to users, the company's parent Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai shared at the annual I/O 2023 Conference on Wednesday.
Search will now be equipped with a novel interface offering a tailored chatbot option. Pichai elaborated on multiple proprietary tools that will benefit from the "PaLM2," Google's most advanced large language model to date. The tech giant's Bard chatbot was revealed to be completely running on the latest coding model, joined by now-confirmed Gemini as a competitor to Microsoft's ChatGPT.
Google Vice President Sissie Hsiao confirmed that the company is making Bard available in over 180 countries and territories, removing the waitlist and eventually bringing the program closer to Gemini to power multiple Google Apps.
