Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai confirmed during Wednesday's Google Cloud Next conference in Las Vegas that the company plans to invest $75 billion in capital expenditure this year, representing a 50% increase from 2024.
Pichai also announced that the company's private network Cloud Wide Area Network (WAN) is now being extended to businesses worldwide. "Cloud WAN leverages Google's planet-scale network. It's optimized for application performance, and delivers over 40% faster performance, while reducing total cost of ownership by up to 40% ... And it will be available to all Google Cloud customers later this month," he added.
