Google relies on Coinbase for crypto cloud payments

Google LLC announced on Tuesday that it has picked Coinbase Global Inc. to add to the tech giant's infrastructure and enable customers to pay for cloud services with cryptocurrencies starting next year.

Google Cloud executive Amit Zavery told CNBC that the platform would first be accepting crypto payments using Coinbase's Commerce service from a limited number of customers in its Web3 world.

Only ten cryptocurrencies will be initially supported, including Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Bitcoin at highest in two months, exceeds $95,000
