Greek Primer Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, stated on Wednesday that the cause of a deadly train crash was a "tragic human error." He made the announcement during a televised address after returning from the crash site near Larissa.
The disaster happened in the early hours of Wednesday morning when a train carrying 350 passengers collided with a freight train in the northern Greek town of Tempe, leaving at least 38 dead, according to the latest reports.
In his remarks, Mitsotakis commended Greek Transport Minister Kostas Karamanlis for his "honorable" decision to resign following the accident. "His stance honors him, as everything shows that the drama is unfortunately due to a tragic human error," Mitsotakis said.
