German Economy Minister Robert Habeck (pictured) stated on Tuesday that the situation with the gas supply could become worse than the Covid pandemic.

He further slammed Moscow over its military operation in Ukraine, stressing that Russian President Vladimir Putin "unleashed war because he can't stand the individual freedom of people." Habeck explained that Ukraine, in pursuit of freedom, "has become a threat to a dictatorial regime."

His remarks come amid widespread concern about the soaring prices of gas, the rising inflation, and problems in the food supply caused by the Russian blockade of Ukrainian ports.
