German Economy Minister Robert Habeck (pictured) said Monday that Germany will be in a different situation regarding the gas market next winter.

"Next winter, we have another situation, I would strongly argue, because then we (will) have the additional gas capacity, so I don't know what the situation in France would be, but on the gas side, we definitely have another situation," stated Habeck.

The minister went on to say that the electricity supply problems are related to the "failure of nuclear power plants in France," adding that Germany is ready to use its nuclear power plants if necessary.
